Everything you wanted to know about our preserves!
Where do your recipes come from?
Here, there and everywhere! Many, such as the pickles, relishes and chili sauce, are from our Gramma Tomkins passed down to us. Some are from Grandma Rodosky. We've found several great ones in old British cook books and are always looking for more. Many of our recipes are a combination of the best parts of several different recipes, or modified to make modern. And many we make up ourselves! Our barbecue sauces are our own recipes

How hot is hot?
Any of the jellies with jalapenos and habaneros have a kick, but are no more than a medium hotness.
Our red pepper jellies start with a plain, no heat at all. 1H red pepper jelly is a mild heat, 3H is a medium heat and 5H is a hot heat, equivalent to a strong red hot sauce. 5+H is for very strong at heart!

What's the difference between jams, jellies, marmalades and chutneys?
Jams are made using the whole, crushed fruit and jellies are more smooth, using only the juice
Marmalades are jams made with citrus fruit
Chutneys are made mixing fruit with onion and raisins, cooked in vinegar. They have a tang to them and often pairs best with savory foods.

Do you take returns on jars?
Yes! Jars this year are becoming scarcer than hen's teeth! We sanitize all returns and would love to take them off your hands
